V.I.P. Ballroom, Amarillo's newest dance studio, is the work of Edgar Tarango. He has performed in "Lone Star Rising" as well as the play "Texas." In 2007, Edgar spent 8 months performing with the world renowned St. Petersburg Ballet in Russia. From 2009 to 2010 he performed with Cirque du Soleil in Florida, and more recently, has returned from Argentina where he learned the Argentinean Tango as well as expanding his knowledge of ballroom dancing. Classes include ballroom dancing, ballet, jazz, salsa, two-step & country, tap dancing, swing, and Argentinean style dancing, as well as dance workout classes including Zamba, taught by McCall Money, stretch core workouts, and rhythm core workouts. In addition, every 2nd and 4th Fri. of the month, V.I.P. Ballroom hosts ballroom dance parties that are open to the public and feature lessons in one particular style for the evening. These parties boast complimentary food & wine, dance lessons, and practice time for attendants.
